Private Spearfishing Charters
Experience Unforgettable Spearfishing Adventures
The Bahamas is a spear fisher's dream, offering an unparalleled underwater experience that captivates both seasoned anglers and nature enthusiasts alike. With over 700 islands and 2,400 cays, this Caribbean paradise is bursting with diverse marine life, making it a prime location for spearfishing adventures. The crystal-clear waters teem with vibrant fish species, each waiting to be discovered by those willing to dive in. It’s an adventure that beckons you to explore its depths, promising unforgettable memories and breathtaking encounters with nature.
Spearfishing Equipment
The right equipment will enhance your spearfishing experience while ensuring safety and comfort. Hawaiian
slings and spears are provided by the crew.
Guests are to provide the following gear:
A low-volume mask - this is crucial as it helps prevent "mask squeeze" at greater depths by equalizing
pressure and conserving air.
A wetsuit-although the waters are typically warm, a wetsuit is recommended to ward off chills when
returning to the boat.
A weight belt- while it may seem unnecessary, is beneficial for maintaining your position on the ocean
floor and preventing unwanted buoyancy.
Gloves are a wise investment, as they not only protect your hands from the elements but also help keep
them warm during your dive.
Spearfishing in the Bahamas presents a unique and thrilling adventure, but it comes with specific regulations that all enthusiasts must follow. Our knowledgeable guide will go through all the local regulations and restrictions before you dive into the water. Please note that the closed season for the Spiny lobster is from April 1st to July 31st and the closed season for the Nassau grouper is from December 1st through the last day of February. The use of any underwater air supply, including air compressors and scuba gear, is prohibited.
Regulations and Restrictions
Spearfishing charters are recommended for proficient swimmers and persons with freediving experience as water depth will range from 10- 40 feet.
Guests freely assume all risks, including the risks of serious personal injury, death or permanent disability resulting from but not limited to equipment use or interaction with marine life. All guests are required to sign
a waiver form before the start of the charter.
Embarking on a spearfishing adventure opens up a world of vibrant and delectable targets. With clear, warm coastal waters teeming with life, explore stunning coral reefs, dive near intriguing shipwrecks, or plunging into the depths of the ocean, from colorful parrotfish to sought-after grouper, every dive presents an opportunity to connect with nature and enhance your culinary experiences. As you plan your journey, consider the unique habitats you’ll explore, each brimming with potential for unforgettable catches and memories.
